I'm a clinical social worker, which means my training includes the traditional framework of modern mental health, but with additional concentration on supporting the challenges we all face living in a socially, politically, and economically uncertain world. Much of life is facing the big questions about loss, meaning and purpose. My practice is shaped by 15 years of clinical expertise in life transition and grief, and also leans on my advanced training in philosophy. What is your approach to therapy? My approach is largely shaped by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with existential influences, though it is always tailored to your needs. Therapy is collaborative and I like to make sure we're regularly checking in to ensure our work is helping you move in the direction of your goals and values. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? If someone or something that anchored your life has disappeared, the process of rebuilding through grief can feel impossible. We'll start by establishing goals for working together, often around establishing a solid foundation that will allow you to stay connected with the past while moving forward in ways that offer connection and hope for the future.
